Are you a Contractor, Roofer, or Builder?

Fast, Commercial-Grade Heat Tape & Snow Retention Quotes for Contractors.

We are a Winter Solution Company.

We work with Roofers, Contractors, and Builders alike to install heat tape and snow retention systems. We'll visit the job site to evaluate potential problems, available power, and give our recommendations for tackling snow and ice.

Roofing or Re-Roofing: Subcontract your heat tape and snow retention systems to us.

1. Asses the roof and system needs

What problems currently exist? What needs to be re-installed? We'll help determine what needs to be done.

2. Send us the project specs

Get us the blueprints or the address.

3. Finalize Contract and Scope

Integrate the removal and installation into the project schedule. You can remove the existing systems if they are not to be reused. Nordic Solutions will remove any heat tape system that are to be reused.

4. Warranty

The manufacturer warranty(ies) covers the new product (10 years to lifetime). Our workmanship warranty covers up to 2 years if any problems arise with any new heat tape or snow retention system.

Say no to call backs.

Back By a 10-year Product Warranty

Not all years are like the winter of 22-23, but preventing ice dam build up is key to preventing leaking and ice dam damage.

At Nordic Solutions, we install Radiant Solutions' Heat Tape Pro. Heat Tape Pro delivers efficient, self-regulating heating cables designed to prevent ice dams and snow buildup. Our heat tape will adjust its output automatically, hence the self-regulating aspect, as weather conditions change, protecting roofs, gutters, and downspouts. Trust heat tape pro for reliable, long lasting winter protection.

No Holes in the roof!

S-5! Colorgard 2.0

Colorgard 2.0 is a premium snow retention bar system designed specifically for standing seam and exposed-fastener metal roofs. Manufactured from high-tensile, aircraft-quality aluminum, it utilizes a unique "ColorStrip" channel where a 2-inch strip of the actual pre-finished roofing material is slid directly into the face of the bar, ensuring a flawless, exact color match that ages and fades as the identical rate as the roof itself. When paired with S-5!'s mechanical seam clamps, ColorGard secures heavy snow loads with zero roof penetration and no messy adhesives, completely protecting the structural integrity and manufacturer warranties of the roof panel. It is widely favored by both residential and commercial buildings alike because it that lasts the lifetime of the building.

Solar and Powder Coat Solutions

TRA Snow and Sun Systems

TRA Snow & Sun's engineered snow retention systems for solar arrays provide the ultimate protection against dangerous, high-velocity snow avalanches sliding off slick solar panels surfaces. Because glass panels create minimal friction and solar panels create ambient heat that lubricates the snowpack, a robust mechanical barrier is essential. TRA systems are powder coated in house to protect against rust and are colored to match the panel frame or the roof color itself. Free from reliance on unreliable chemical adhesives. these deck-mounted or seam-clamped metal rails offer a fully warranted, structurally integrated solution that protects pedestrians, landscaping, and gutter systems.

Re-Roofing: Can I reuse heat tape or a snow retention system?

It depends on the component, but you should replace the heat tape system and can probably reuse the snow retention.

Heat Tape is commonly damaged or past its lifespan when reroofing. Some lower end constant wattage cables only last 3-4 years, these should absolutely be replaced. Higher end self-regulating heat cables can last 20-30 years. A cable installed within the past 0-7 years is a great candidate for re-install, older cables will require additional evaluation. To determine whether or not a self-regulating cable can be reused, the cable should be assed for any visible damage to the exterior insulation and have a megameter test conducted to determine if there are any internal damages. Re-installing damaged or old heat tape can result in fire hazards. Use brand new clips or attachments for the heat tape system as old clips can lose their bit. Re-roofing is the best time to install new high end self-regulating heat tape as these systems typically last the lifetime of the roof.

Snow Retention entirely depends on the type installed. S-5! or TRA Sun and Snow systems, for instance, are often built and designed for the lifetime of the roof (metal roofs). These systems can absolutely be re-installed (unless there is some kind of underlying damage to the system of course). If these systems were installed with penetrating fasteners, these fasteners should be replaced if the retention itself will be reused. Glue on or adhesive based snow retention systems should not be reused. "Z style" (often called "Hardy Rib Snow Rail") should not be reused.

Can TRA Snow Retention systems be installed under the shingles of the roof?

Yes. TRA Snow & Sun individual brackets are both designed and engineered for installation on top of and under asphalt shingles, wood shakes, and tile roofs. During a reroof or new construction, the brackets are integrated seamlessly into the roofing workflow: the long flat metal strap is fastened directly to the roof deck or underlayment, and the subsequent course of shingles is laid right over, leaving only the durable, power coated braked face exposed to catch the snow. While these individual brackets can also be retrofitted under the existing shingles, it is more challenging and if not done right, can lead to leaking problems down the line. It's best to install this system as a new rood is being installed.
